What counts as a catch
A catch is a drop the otter actually emailed someone about. On a search, that means the lowest verified pick for the same place, dates and party fell by 5% or $50 since the alert was set. On a booked stay, it means a rate the traveller could still cancel into was lower than what they paid, before their free-cancellation deadline. Each price is read live from the booking site at the time shown, never from a cache.
A trip that dropped more than once counts once, at its largest drop. The dollar figure is what the drop was worth when it was read. Whether each traveller rebooked is their business, so this page counts the catches, not the rebookings. The otter never books or cancels anything itself.
Test and internal accounts are left out. The numbers refresh every ten minutes.
