The deal, in plain words.

Stay Otter interviews you about a stay, fetches live listings from booking sites, verifies the finalists against map data, and shows you its picks with the receipts behind them. Optionally the otter keeps watching and emails you when a pick changes. We are a finder and a watcher. We are not a travel agency, a booking platform or a party to any reservation.

Every pick links to the site that lists it. If you book, your contract is with that site and the host or property, under their terms. We stage the link; you book. Availability, price, cancellation rules and everything about the stay itself are theirs to honour, not ours.

Every number we show carries the time it was observed. Prices and availability change by the minute, and what you see on the booking site is what counts. Distances are straight-line, walk times are estimates, venue counts come from OpenStreetMap and can be incomplete. We work hard to be accurate and we fail loudly when a source misbehaves, but we cannot guarantee that any listing is available, correctly priced or as described.

Some links to booking sites are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when you book through them. Commission never affects which picks you see or their order. The other site's price is shown even when it beats the link that pays us. A paid plan for the watcher may be offered later; its price and terms will be stated before you are charged, and nothing is charged without your explicit action.

Searches are free for people planning real trips. Please don't use automated tools against the site, resell its output, or run searches in volume to extract listings. We pace searches and may pause an address or email that looks automated. Give us a real email if you want alerts; we only ever send what you asked for.

What you type in the interview is yours. You give us permission to process it to run your search, including sending free text to an AI model to interpret it, as described in the privacy page.

The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent the law allows, Stay Otter is not liable for losses arising from a stay you book, a price that changed, a listing that was wrong, or an alert that arrived late or not at all. If the law requires some liability, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which today is nothing.

You can stop using the service at any time and stop any watch from its page. We may suspend access that breaks these terms. We may change the service or these terms; the date at the top moves when we do, and watchers hear about material changes by email.
