Questions

Is it free?
Yes. Booking watches are free with a Stay Otter account, for as many bookings as you have. If you rebook through the otter's link, the site may pay Stay Otter a commission; your price is the same either way.
Do you rebook or cancel for me?
No. The otter never books or cancels anything. It tells you the rate, where it is and the order to do it in: book the new rate first, cancel the original second.
Which bookings work?
Any stay with free cancellation. Booking.com, Expedia and Vrbo bookings are read on the property's own page; hotels booked direct or on other sites are read across sellers through Google's rate list. A non-refundable booking can't be swapped for a cheaper rate, so there is nothing to catch.
What if the price never drops?
Most rates won't drop enough to matter, and that is an answer too. When free cancellation ends, the otter writes once to say how many times it read the rate and the lowest it saw, so you know your price held.
What about a whole home, like a Vrbo house?
A single whole home has one calendar, so once it's yours its price can't drop for you. The first read says so, and the otter offers to watch other whole homes nearby for your dates instead, writing only if one comes in 5% or $50 under what you paid.
What do you keep?
The property, the dates, what you paid, the cancellation deadline and where you booked. Never the email itself, your name, the confirmation number or card details.

Why rates move after you book, and how to check yours by hand: your stay's price will probably change after you book.
