How many bedrooms does a group of eight need?

The otter asks for two to a room from three people up, so a party of eight needs four bedrooms. A listing that says fewer is set aside; one that doesn't say is kept, and the card shows the bedroom count when the site states it.

Why does the otter lead with the nearest town instead of bars and cafés?

Because a hobby weekend is a retreat. In retreat mode a quiet street ranks first, the card leads with the bedrooms and the nearest town with a drive time, and a listing with no venues within half a mile is the point, not a demerit.

Hobby weekend houses: stays with room for eight, checked today

Where do eight friends stay for a crafting or puzzle weekend?

More trips are built around a hobby than a city: a crafting weekend, a puzzle marathon, a birding or stargazing trip with the group chat. The booking sites report it and so do we, in the words people type into the otter. The house matters more than the postcode: bedrooms for everyone, a table big enough, a quiet road, and a town close enough for groceries.

So the otter runs this trip itself, in retreat mode: eight adults, three nights in the Texas Hill Country, a quiet street ranked above a lively one, the nearest town and its drive time on every pick, and any house with fewer than four bedrooms set aside. The numbers below are from the last time it ran, with the time of the check; run your own dates and it fetches live totals.
